Summary :

In this chapter, Soren was experienced Moon March. That is kind of brainwash. Soren forgot the plan and he thought he couldn’t fly. Because, Soren thought that he lost his feathers. He felt stay in the pelletorium and he should have another job that is nursing other owls. He followed Auntie Finny’s order. However Gylfie noticed Soren’s status and she tried to recover Soren’s consciousness. Because Gylfie found special place that is the big crack. Nobody knowns that place. So, owl’s monitors didn’t know that place too. Gylfie thought that this is last chance for them. Therefore, Gylfie persuaded Soren and explained new escape plan, but Soren didn’t understand Gyfie’s intention and He don’t want to capture owl’s monitor. Also, He worried about he couldn’t fly and He repeatedly told about Greate Ga’hoole.They argued each other for long time. At last, Gyfie reminded Soren’s younger sister Eglantine. Soren missed his younger sister and he sincerely hope to meet Eglantine. So He recovered his consciousness and figured out the current situation. Soren and Gylfie decided second escape plan and, that night, they tried to escape Moon March. However, owl’s monitors discovered them and they marched under the full moon. Gyfie could endure the moonshining, but Soren fainted his mind and He wanted to sleep.

Reaction

During read this book, I found onomatopoeia and Ga’hoole word. So, I was very confused this chapter’s story and took a long time for reading.

Ga’hoole word is native meaning that is only use in the book, such as, Racdrops or Flecks. Onomatopoeia is a word from related with sound like churr, screech and cooed. Those things are not familiar for me. However, I focused on this chapter’s story, because I like suspense movie and novel. This chapter’s atmosphere is like this. So I really wonder about the next chapter.

Summary :

Last time, Soren was in trouble. He endured to didn’t sleep. However, He was very tired and he wanted to sleep. So Gylfie tried to find the way for waking up Soren and Soren continued thinking for waking own self, Meanwhile Soren reminded suddenly why he fell down and he knew the truth. Soren’s older brother Kludd pushed Soren’s back. Soren was shocked and he taught why his order brother pushed him. He missed his parents and sister, while Gylfie found spacial place. Soren and Gylfie can escape full moon in that place. So Soren could avoid guar’s watching and full moon. Also Soren took a sleep in that place. Therefore Gylfie and Soren decided escape from Aegolius Academy. Because, they also found a way. That is during on sleep march, every owls make a big noise and nest guard do not concern about young owls. So they make a plan for escape. 

Reaction

  in this chapter, I couldn’t help focusing the story, because Some secret truth revealed Soren’s older brother pushed Soren’s back and he fell down from nest and became a orphan. So I’m very wondering about next chapter. Also some vocabulary are very difficult for me to read like “blannkly, rapper, sterile, and so on.

Summary :

New character

Jatt & Jutt : they were once a number. But they have earned their new name.

  Soren separated from Gylfie and he met the their orphan’s colleague Jatt & Jutt. They told Soren to keep sleeping position and he should have to participate sleep march before sleep. Sleep march is naming ceremony. During this ceremony, orphan owls say their code name because they want to young orphan owls are brainwashed to forget their real name. After than Soren participated the first sleep march before sleep. However, suddenly Gylfe appeared in front of Soren and she told Soren “They’re moon blinking us,”.

  Gylfie told Soren about Moon blinking. Her parent told him “Do not sleep under the full moon,), because that day is full moon night. So Gylfie said Soren “Don’t sleep!”. Altough Gylfie’s parents never explained, but they said that the old owl had gone crazy from sleeping under full shine. So, Soren avoided sleeping under full moon. However, Soren felt tired and he wanted to sleep. Gylfie tried to find the way for waking Soren.

Reaction

  In this chapter, I found some mimetic word such as coo or whhhh. Also I was confused by some word like a dwenk. This word is not on dictionary. However, this chapter focused on hardship of Soren. So I expected reading and wondered about it. Although I didn’t understand whole things, I read the context.

Summary :

New Character

Mrs. Plithiver - She is blind snake and protect the nest.

Gylfie - She is Elf Owl. Her age is 29nights(old). -Soren

Skench - She is mysterious orphan’s - Aegolius Academy- teacher.

   After falling down a nest, Soren ask for Mrs. Plithiver’s help. However, suddenly, come in to hearing strange sound around Soren. Soren is embarrassed and he escape from the nest. After then, Soren got lost and is snatched by strange owl’s troop.

   Captured Soren asked strange owl’s leader and he knew that he is not only captured owl. Soren met the Elf Owl Gylfie. Gylfie is younger than Soren, but he can fry. So Soren asked her for teaching to escape from strange troops. However They are taken from Aegolus Academy.

   In that place, Soren and Glylfie met Skench who is discipline teacher. Skench said to them they are orphan and If they are good to follow, she will give them their true name. Becuase, in Aegolius Academy, owls do not use their own name. They are called number code name.

Reaction

  In this week, I was very confused, because this chapter’s vocabulary is very difficult for me. So I only read the book 12p. However, I understood main accident and important thing. Next week, I’ll try hard to read and organize vocabulary.

Summary :

   Guardians of Ga’hool - The capture is story about Solen who the second brother of 3 Barn Owls in forest of Tyto. Solen has got five people in his family. His parents are Father Noctus, mother Marela, elder brother Kludd, and Younger sister Eglantine.

   So far in the book, Solen is a child who just begin to grow fur, on the other hand his elder brother Kludd has newly fledged wings. His mother Marela and father Noctus are waiting for hatched their egg and also Solen looks forward to his sister. However, Oldest son Kludd does not interest about her hatching. He only concerned about his First Born ceremony. He is arrogant teenager. Reason why he waits for First ceremony, because,after ceremony, he can fry alone without their parent’s watching. However, young owls usually attempt fly alone when their parent were out hunting. This behavior is very dangerous, because many predators live in the land.

   One day, Eglantine was born. Solen’s parents began to look for their daughter’s prey, so their children often left alone. Meanwhile, other owl family’s Owlets disappeared. Although Solen’s parents are worried about this event, they leave the nest to find their daughter prey. However, they do not return the nest on time. So, Solen worried about their parents and he decided to find their parents. But Solen does not know way to fly. Thus, he asked to help his brother Kludd for teaching him to fry. But his elder brother Kludd denied his asking. So, Solen attempted alone to fly and he dropped to the ground.

Reaction :

   When I was read first time, I was thoroughly confused. Because this book’s vocabulary and expression are unfamiliar for me. (Actually, First chapter is not interesting for me.) However, I understood context when accidents happened. Actually, I want to watch a movie, because I wonder about next episode. (Guardians of ga’hool was made by Film last year) But teacher said to me “Don’t watch a movie”.
